A Hadith that shows the Importance of studying this book is the story of the man who prayed badly:
“A man entered the Masjid and started praying while Allah’s Messenger (Peace and blessings be upon him) was sitting somewhere in the Masjid. Then the man came to the Prophet (Peace and blessings be upon him) and greeted him. The Prophet (Peace and blessings be upon him) said to him, Go back and pray, for you have not prayed.’ The man went back, and after he prayed, he came and greeted the Prophet (Peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (Peace and blessings be upon him) after returning his greetings said, ‘Go back and pray, for you did not pray.” On the third occasion, the man said, ‘Teach me (how to pray). The Prophet (Peace and blessings be upon him) said, ‘When you get up for the Prayer, perform Wudu properly. Then face the Qiblah and say the Takbir (Allahu Akbar). Then recite whatever is easy for you of the Qur’an. Then bow, and remain in this state till you feel at ease bowing. Then raise your head and stand straight. Then prostrate till you feel at ease in prostration. Then sit up till you feel at ease while sitting. Then prostrate again till you feel at ease in prostration. Then get up and stand straight, and do this in all your prayers.”
