Shaykh ʿAbdurraḥmān ibn Nāṣir As-Saʿdī Said:
“I have written a lengthy book on Tafsīr, the commentary of Qurʾān. However, some readers may find it challenging to finish, and publishers may hesitate to publish it. They suggested summarizing the lengthy exegesis by including only certain verses representing the topics and objectives of the Glorious Qurʾān. I have followed their good advice and put my trust in Allāh. There are several reasons, one of which is that readers will find it easier to read. The Qurʾān is a unique book that requires a specific arrangement and classification. It is the epitome of eloquence, mastery, and elevated style. Its influence on those who recite it is a testament to the truth that it is the word and revelation of Allāh, the All-Wise, the Praiseworthy One. Each verse covers the objectives of Sharīʿah, including their means, proofs, truths, gentle encouragement, and severe admonition. One verse may cover fundamental pillars, secondary rulings, religious knowledge, worldly knowledge, multiple purposes, and valuable ends. The Qurʾān repeats meanings to help servants understand and abide by Islām in their words and deeds, guiding them along the Straight Path.”
